You will provide high quality advanced Orthotic & Prosthetic (O&P) assessment, service planning, and direct clinical service provision for patients of the Orthotics and Prosthetic Services within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and other associated clinics, in particular with the Ambulatory Rehabilitation Service based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Your responsibilities will include managing an independent clinical case-load on and off-site, supervising clinical and technical staff, overseeing student placements, participating in quality assurance, ongoing professional development and assisting research activities within the department. Whilst the Orthotic and Prosthetic service promotes a team environment, you will need to bring the ability to work independently and problem solve at both a clinical and technical level.

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) provides a range of acute, sub-acute, ambulatory and primary health care services across the Central region of metropolitan Adelaide. It includes the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), St Margaret’s Hospital and a range of Primary Health Care and state-wide services.

You will need to hold an appropriate degree or an equivalent qualification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, and have prior experience in prosthetic and orthotic service delivery. Demonstrating sound knowledge of Orthotic Prosthetic technical manufacturing processes and procedures, you will be committed to providing a high level of customer and client service. Effective problem solving and time management skills will be essential, along with the ability to communicate in a sensitive and appropriate manner with patients and their families.
