The NDIS

The NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is transforming the way healthcare is provided to people with disability across Australia. The NDIS is a Government funding model aimed at improving the lives of individuals who acquire a disability prior to the age of 65.

As orthotic/prosthetic service providers, many of your clients will be eligible to participate in the NDIS to access their own individual funding for their orthotic and prosthetic management. It is therefore imperative that you have an in-depth understanding of the way in which the NDIS operates. This will allow you to provide the best advice and services to your clients.

As a current or prospective user of orthotic/prosthetic services, you may be wondering if you're eligible to access funding through the NDIS or how to find an orthotic/prosthetic service provider. Our Participant Resources page will assist you with answering these questions.

AOPA is pleased to provide the following resources to help both NDIS Providers and Participants navigate this new system. If you have any questions, comments or would like to provide content for this page, please contact the National Office on (03) 9816 4620 or email admin@aopa.org.au
